Stevie Wonder

Stevie WonderStevland Haraway Morris (ne Judkins) was born on the 13th of May 1950. He is also known as Stevie Wonder and is considered a pioneering musician and an influencer on musicians from various genres from blues, jazz, gospel, soul and jazz. A virtual one-man band, Wonder's use of synthesizers as well as other electronic musical instruments during the 1970s reshaped the conventions of R&B. He was instrumental in bringing these genres into the age of albums by making albums that were both coherent and consistently. Wonder, who was blind from the time of his birth was signed to Motown's Tamla label at the age of 11 years old. He was then given the name "professional" Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's success on the critical scene was at its highest in the 1970s. The singer's "classic period" began in 1972 with the releases of Music of My Mind and Talking Book, the latter with "Superstition" and is among the most distinctive and famous examples of the sound produced by the Hohner Clavinet keyboard. He received the Grammy Award as Album of the year for Innervisions (1973), FulfillingnessThe First Finale (1974), and Songs in the Key of Life ( 1976). This makes him the holder of the tie record of the most Album of the year wins , with three. He is also the only artist to have won the award with three consecutive album releases. Wonder was considered a "commercial artist" at the time that he began make his biggest hits in the 1980s. His popularity grew with increased album sales, involvement in charities, and notable collaborations.
