The film won two awards at Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize for the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). Youth Without Youth by Francis Ford Coppola was another film in which she appeared. She portrayed Yasim Awar in the BBC's 5 episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca was a part of Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven as well as the Romanian drama Boogie. She appeared as Irma in Fury 2014 in which she played a German named aunt to Emma.
